Just like i promised of attending this year’s chale wote festival which was themed wata mata , i did and not only did i enjoy this occasion i also did find my self .
This year’s theme ” wata mata” was all focused on water but it did go beyond just the water and its environs..For the first time in my life there was an option for me to become who ever i chooses to be.
Different people from different cultural backgrounds from different countries under one festival opened my eyes to the possibilities this life has for each and everyone of us.
The chale wote festival was home to the thousands of people who couldnt express themselves at their various homes, wata mata made that possibility of expression ones self either through drawing your creative arts or graffiting them on the wall a dream come true.
Regarding my own expression as i went as a tourist, at the grounds where i stood watching the proceedings of these arts in display i could virtually feel myself flowing like water and that moment i knew i was always going to long for this feeling of cultural diversity .
It was a sight to behold at and i dont know if that feeling might be due to it being my first time or just something i just got hooked on..i barely remember the girls i winked at but couldnt still get noticed by them and i still remember the feeling of wishing my stay in that festival would last forever.
Through Chale Wote “Wata Mata” I have understood in my understanding about how my life should be lived irrespective of where i find my self and Just like Paulo Coelho said ;“Culture makes people understand each other better. And if they understand each other better in their soul, it is easier to overcome the economic and political barriers. But first they have to understand that their neighbor is, in the end, just like them, with the same problems, the same questions ”
